Incredible!

*Detailed Review*We wanted a generator to primarily support our cruiser boat (30A plug) while out on the ‘hook’ overnight aka not connected to shore power. We were MORE than impressed by the power and efficiency this unit has.We purchased the 4000, dual fuel, remote start and all I can say is WOW!USE: The remote start / stop is a game changer for our use. We keep it on our swim platform, 20 or so feet from our cabin interior. It simultaneously powers our boats aircon or heat, stovetop, TV, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, and all other boat features (lights, water pumps, etc) simultaneously SEE VIDEO.We can start it and stop it from the comfort of our bed without having to get up when it’s cooled down / heated up inside. In the video you can hear it in the background outside the cabin, but you can tell it is not too loud as we aren’t trying to talk loud over it running.UTILITY: The machine weighs in the 60# range if I remember correctly, which makes it very portable for my husband. For those of us less strong, it has a nice pullout handle feature, which enables it to be pulled or pushed around with ease. So far we have only used the gasoline fuel but wanted both gas + propane for any reason one or the other may be unavailable. I also wanted to mention the auto off CO detection feature we inadvertently found out about- while the unit was mounted and secured to our swim platform, we needed to move the boat slowly 10’ or so. As such, when we turned the boat off after the move, we realized that the unit was off. We surmised the exhaust from the boat, directly under the unit, was enough to engage the generators CO sensor and turn it off. And that was an incredible feature we did not know it possessed. This feature is obviously for if the generator itself produces then is stagnant of CO, a safety shut off feature.EFFICIENCY: While out on the hook, we can run it at normal (non efficiency mode) for 8 hours on and off a day, 3-4 days of the week and maybe only go through 2.5-3gallons of fuel. My most appreciative use was during hurricane Milton over this fall. While we had intended it for boat use, it came in handy when we went down to check on our other home. During the power outage, we had the house refrigerator, the lanai refrigerator, TV, many cell phones etc, all plugged in , for 14 solid hours and maybe burned through 5 gallons of gasoline on the efficient mode.As you can see, we are more than pleased with this Westinghouse unit and would recommend it.

Life Depends on Generators in Northern Michigan

We have a larger Westinghouse generator and it serves our house well - so when it came time for a generator for our guest cottage, we turned to Westinghouse because of it’’s reliability, dual fuel and most important an electric start. We suffered a once in a generation ice storm in Northern Michigan last March and were without power for weeks while they re-built the grid. We depended on our Westinghouse generator to keep power going for my brother’s oxygen machines. Without power he would have died. Hopefully we won’t need it but we are prepared now for this winter.

Keep well maintianed and clean the float bowl of fuel before storage.

Well packaged, arrived quickly. Clean the float bowl of gas from when tested in the factory if not using gasoline and using propane. If using over 3-4000 altitude, get the high altitude kit. Get a set of NKG sparkplugs and magnetic dipstick to catch metal shavings during break in. Change the oil and maintain on schedule.

I’ve done the research… Can’t beat it.

4k watt peak super super quiet with remote start and excellent easy to read display. I did the research and comparisons. This unit sips fuel with its Eco mode and clean 120v ac pure sine wave output WITH true 30 AMP RV OUTLET!3 year warranty… what are you waiting for. This will run everything on our 32 ft Four Winds Class C.

Reasonably light weight and features not found on other brands.

Best generator in this size range I have ever owned. It came well packed with everything needed for first use. Fired up on first push on the remote start button. Broke it in by running and stoping over a few days. Love the features with clearly visible LED panel with info about load, run time, fuel etc. Runs on propane or gas which I like. The manual is well written and gives all necessary information. It has a reasonably good amount of wattage at a weight I can pick up to load on my truck.Easy to use with good information, electric start with remote feature, dual fuel option and reasonable weight. What else can you ask for.

Runs great!

Runs quiet, starts easy manually, electrical and remote! Not to heavy to put in back of truck for my trailer use. Thanks, Chief

Easy set-up

I received it today and set it up. All I had to do was connect the battery, add oil and gas, and turn it on. It started up on the 2nd crank with the remote. I have other Westinghouse products and I am very happy with them. I can't wait to put this one under a stress test. I'm sure it will hold up just like the other one I have.

Good on fuel. (I only use propane)

I love this thing. Everybody gets jealous when I bring it out at the camp sites. It is good on fuel and makes just enough to run a full sized camper. The remote start is awesome, but it the only thing that bugs me. The remote will start it from farther away than it will shut it off meaning sometimes I will have to go outside and get closer to it to shut it off when I'm trying to go to sleep.

So far, so good

Brand new, haven't even started it yet. It came well packaged and the design is well thought out. My favorite included accessory is the flexible, threaded funnel for filling the oil. It allows for zero mess. Looking forward to breaking it in before the expected bad winter hits the Midwest. This will also give us the freedom of being off grid with our camper next season.

This little powerhouse just runs and does what it should! Good controls board with a light!

The generator is good and works, however the starter on one generator does not start the generator about 75% of the time and the new one did the same thing after a few starts. The starter will eventually work and for that I am only giving 4 stars because it wont let me give it 4.5.Noise level is decent and on par with many other low noise units.Lighter and easy to move for sure.Side panels could be a little more secure, they tend to vibrate some and the wheels need to be on the ground or they will make noise.

What a wonderful investment this quiet and powerful generator is!

Wow, this generator is amazing! When we received it, we were at our family's rv park and several campers came over to check it out. This generator has everything you need to enjoy camping and also in emergency at the house! We liked the idea of having dual fuel (gas and propane), just in case. And, the neat thing is, it has a fob for remote starting! For those who can not carry a generator (although it is about 60+ lbs) there is a handle and wheels to assist you. It is compact in size and for the money, you get a lot. You will not regret investing in this generator. It is also very quiet running.

Very Nice Generator with all the features

The Westinghouse 4000 dual fuel inverter generator has all the features at a good price! I connected to propane first and the generator started right up. Just flip the on switch and push the button. Then, I switched to gas and ran it. After running it for the 5 hour break in, running on gas, I plugged in a 30amp camper and ran the Furrion Chill 15K air conditioner and it ran fine. I ran the generator on eco mode and it ramped up to run the air conditioner. The ac ran at 1800 watts once started. The generator was louder than I had hoped it would be at 75db close to the unit running the a/c (not sure on the accuracy of a free iPhone app to measure the db). It would be fine to use for running ac for us in terms of operations and noise in the camper, but not unless we are far from others. If it turns out it does not get much use camping, it will work well for power failures at home. A lot of power in a small package that is easy to move around. The documentation is good and it seems like Westinghouse will support the product. 4 instead of 5 stars since the description says ultra and super quiet and I am not so sure I agree with the use of those terms.

Absolutely beyond satisfied!

Very impressed with this unit so far! (4000DFc) Package arrived early and in perfect condition. Very easy to figure out what needed to be done in order to get it going. I bought this particular generator for my travel trailer. The ability to run on propane was the deciding factor. No having to mess with having to carry gas cans and dealing with volatile fumes. Unboxed this unit added the oil that came with it, popped open the panel to gain access to the battery which is already installed. Just removed the protective covers from the wires and plugged them together. attached the supplied hose to the generator and propane bottle turned on the power switch located on the front panel pushed the start button and this little machine started right up. After running for a short time the green light lit up showing it was ready to have a load applied to it. I then shut it down and unhooked it from the LP tank and very easily carried it across the property to where the travel trailer is. Hooked it to the LP tank on trailer turn ed the power switch on and went inside the trailer with the key fob. Pressed the button on the fob and it started right up again remotely. could hardly hear it running. I the n went out and made sure the green ready light was on and plugged in the 30 amp service cord. Went inside and turned the A/C unit on and in no time at all the A/C was blowing cold without so much as a studder from the generator. I the n turned on the refrigerator and T.V. This little generator does everything I needed it to do. I didn't try the microwave with the A/C running but it would surprise me if it could not handle it. Did not want to put to much of a load on it before it was ran for awhile. Did not try it on gasoline. Very light weight and quiet for what it produces. Could not ask for more at this price. stows nicely beside the bed while in transit, no gas fumes. It does have a nice handle that slides out from the underside for moving it around on the wheels that come already installed on it. No assembly required. Unbox it add oil connect battery supply fuel (Gas or Propane) hit the start button. Good to go! Thanks Westinghouse perfect fit in every way for this application. The remote start feature is the icing on the cake! The price of this inverter/generator is very reasonable. After only running it for a short time I am unable know the fuel consumption but it does have a ECO mode that allows the generator to produce power to the receptacles at an idle. this allows you to charge your electronics with the USB ports located on the front panel and operate low amp devices without the generator coming off of idle. So I'm pretty sure this thing will run all the things I need it to at an idle except the A/C and microwave.

Looking good so far and pleased

The unit was delivered undamaged, and all materials and hardware were included in the box. The instructions were easy to follow. The unit came with oil and funnel making it easy to put the oil in. The unit battery was connected as instructed. The unit was set up using propane which came with all required hardware including wrenches. The unit was initially started using the electric start button. The unit started on the first attempt. The remote start fob was programmed and used to start the unit and left to run for 15 min with no issues. The unit was later used on the RV 30A circuit. Air conditioning was run which used 25% of the generator. The microwave was also checked and running at full power it also used 25%. These are the two items which you would have to have a generator for as they only run on 120 Volts. The electric hot water heater was also checked. It uses 50% of the generator power. This would only need to be used if for some reason the propane system was not functioning but good information to know. The unit was run for two hours on varying load conditions to break in the unit. Still have three hours more for break in to be complete loading must remain under 50% or less during this time. As the data has shown, running the AC and microwave should meet the requirement. The unit's noise was adequate. I appreciate the weight and size. At 62 pounds it can be loaded into the cab of a pickup keeping it safe and out of site during travel. Because it is kept inside the cab, I have only been using propane to fuel the generator. No gasoline smell or fumes in the cab. You do lose about 20% output power with propane, but I don't anticipate running it at peak levels so it should not be a problem. I don't know how long the propane will last, but after the first two hours the tank still felt full. I started with a full tank so when I fill it before any trips I'll have a more accurate number. The unit also comes with a built in strong retractable pull handle to move the generator on the ground, so it does not have to be carried unless conditions demand it. The unit is packed with features and the dual fuel, and three starting options make this unit very powerful and flexible. I'm pleased with the generator so far and hopefully for a long time to come.
